Biometric Fingerprint Cell PhonesCell phones are everywhere, and offer more features daily. Personal and sensitive information is now stored in your cellphone. You can even perform banking transactions using your cell phone. This necessitates the need for good security. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that some cell phones now incorporate a fingerprint scanner for owner identification. LG Telecom's LP3800 cell phone is an example of a new breed of biometrics-enabled phones. You press your finger to the fingerprint sensor on the cell phone, which identifies and authorizes you to access the phone's full capabilities. Expect to see fingerprint sensors on most cellphones within a couple of years. |
